Tuesdays  7:00 pm - Qigong & Yoga

This is a unique class that combines qigong and yoga to help you observe and move energy in your body so you can feel your best physically, mentally, emotionally, and spiritually.

No prior knowledge of Qigong or Yoga

is needed for any of my classes.

Thursdays  9:00 am - UnBlock Therapeutic Yoga

This class releases tightness in the physical body and promotes energy/prana flow by unblocking stuck energy in multiple energy systems for physical, mental, and emotional well-being.

 No experience or prior knowledge is needed!

Cost: $15 per class OR 

 Pre pay for 6 classes = $72 ($12 per class)

Pre Pay for 10 classes = $110 ($11 per class)

General Informa(SHEN)About My Classes

All the classes I teach are Hatha yoga-based, however, each class is unique, therapeutic, and intuitively guided.  I teach you to know where your body is in space and how it reacts to different physical and emotional stressors.   I encourage you to understand your body's signals and what it is saying to you. Many different types of yoga, meditation, breathing exercises, energy medicine techniques, Qigong, sound healing, and fascia stretching are incorporated into classes based on the needs of the participants that day. 

Each class is different and healing in its own way!

If you are new to yoga, or have a regular practice but would like to improve your form or other aspects of ways to move energy in and around your body, I suggest meeting with me ahead of time or having a few private sessions.

Personalized Yoga Therapy & Qigong Sessions

Yoga Therapy- Individual or Small Group

All yoga is potentially therapeutic and healing, and the yogic model of health is unique because it addresses every aspect of life rather than considering each body part or system separately.  A general public yoga class can certainly ease everyday aches, pains, and mood complaints, but a yoga therapy session goes much further... It is tailored to the individual or small group of people (2-3 people who know each other) addressing personal physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual needs. As an Occupational Therapist and Yoga Therapist I have in-depth training of the physical body and nervous system.  As an empath and HSP (highly sensitive person), I am intuitively guided with every person that comes to see me. 

 Yoga therapy is a safe way of working with the natural capacity of your body and mind to optimize well-being.  Many people first learn about yoga through its physical practices, but a common misconception is that it’s all about stretching or movement.  In fact, yoga therapy can help people who can’t move at all, as well as active individuals!

I work with you to address your specific goals while considering any limitations you might be experiencing. I may recommend:

  • restorative postures/asana and stretches that address specific areas of discomfort or musculoskeletal, muscular, and fascia imbalances

  • movement ranging from gentle to vigorous

  • breathing techniques, mantra and mudra

  • meditation or visualization practices

  • the application of these techniques in your everyday life

It all depends on what you need to increase your health and well-being.

People who benefit from private instruction are: 

  • new to yoga and do not feel ready to attend a group class

  • having a physical issue that requires modification of poses

  • interested in learning how to stretch their muscles and fascia

  • familiar with the practice but want more detailed instruction to improve their poses

  • seeking guidance for meditation that fits their specific needs

  • interested in studying different types of yoga, yoga philosophy, or other aspects of yoga in addition to asanas

  • private groups or corporate employees who want to add yoga to meet their schedule and needs.  I am available for off-site instruction.

 Initial Session: One and a half hours to two hours $150; 2 1/2 hours $180 

Follow Up Sessions: One-hour session $70; One and a half hour session $105

Pricing varies per small group (2-3 friends).

Some sessions available via ZOOM if client appropriate.

Personalized Qigong Instruct(SHEN)-Individual or Group

This is a standing and moving meditative practice that supports your personal Qi and it is a perfect place for the NOT SO QUIET MIND to start...

You will learn a specific sequence of movements and mind activity to turn your focus inward and attune yourself to your ENERGY FLOW.  These graceful movements help you feel a different connection with yourself – and become familiar with the feeling of Qi moving in the body.

CAUTION (cauSHEN)!!  The exchange of Qi that is affected during the practice helps to initiate changes in the body: stress may diminish, posture improves, strength increases...and spontaneous smiling and happiness may occur. In fact, what is happening is the body and mind preparing to begin the process of integration of the separated self with the greater whole. The overall result is a feeling of calm, serenity, and new awareness of self.

Periodically, I offer Qigong Instruct(SHEN) as a group, but I am available to teach it individually or to a small group on request at any time, too!

In-person sessions or via Zoom if appropriate.

Pricing is dependent on group size and number of classes needed to complete instruct(SHEN).

General Considerations for IN-PERSON Classes and Sessions

  1. Please stay home if you are not feeling well.

  2. Wearing a mask is your choice.  I will not be wearing a mask.

  3. Follow proper coughing and sneezing etiquette.

  4. If you have been in contact with someone who has been ill or has traveled to communities where COVID-19 is widely spread, please do not attend.

 

If possible, please let me know within 24 hours if you are unable to attend class or need to reschedule.
